Mauritz Slabbert
Bio
Mauritz Slabbert is the owner of ProCast Dental Laboratory in Silverdale, Auckland. He qualified as a Dental Technician at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology during the nineties and in his final year he won the award for Best Student of the Year.
He started his career in Cape Town and after migrating to New Zealand in the late nineties he completed the New Zealand Dental Technology Registration Examination at the University of Dunedin.
Mauritz is interested in new dental developments, and he continues his professional development with advanced training courses and learning opportunities such as a visit to the International Dental Show in Cologne.
Mauritz has been practicing as a Dental Technician for the past 25 years. He first worked for several years under two respected Auckland mentors, before establishing his own Auckland laboratory during 2005.
As the owner of ProCast Dental Laboratory, Mauritz is known for his excellent service and his investment in leading edge technologies.

Abstract: Full arch dental implant rehabilitations provide life changing treatments for our patients. Whether it is a removable or fixed prosthesis, its long-term success requires a multidisciplinary prosthetically driven treatment planning.
The emphasis has traditionally been placed on the dental surgeon’s relationship with the restoring clinician, while the laboratory technician is often forgotten.
In this presentation we will present the Keys to Success for planning and delivering full arch implant rehabilitations with a focus on dentist – technician relationship, a crucial element to delivering a strong prosthesis which achieves optimal health, function and cosmetic outcomes.
